A Star is Born marked Judy Garland's return to movies after a four-year absence, director George Cukor's first musical and first color film, and a showcase for great Harold Arden/Ira Gershwin songs in state-of-the-art stereo. One of the most beloved show-business stories of all time, it represents a career peak for many involved. Garland is singer Esther Blodgett, an undeniable talent on the rise. She catches the eye of Norman Maine (James Mason), an alcoholic actor in career decline. Their intense love transforms them both. Only one will survive Hollywood's slings and arrows. Shortened in response to exhibitor complaints after its premiers, the movie underwent one rebirth in 1983 when film historian Ronald Haver found almost all the cut sequences and supervised a reconstruction to near its original length. Its new rebirth is this breathtaking digital surround stereo track and incorporating picture and musical material recently found in the vaults. Star always had a shine to it. Now watch it sparkle as never before.

On June 8, 2010, the legendary master of crime is back!  Four of Charlie Chan’s beloved hits move into the spotlight as Charlie Chan Mysteries makes its remastered debut as part of the established TCM Spotlight series.  Presented by Warner Home Video (WHV), the set will include four films specifically selected to showcase an unforgettable cast of characters: Dark Alibi, Dangerous Money, The Trap and The Chinese Ring.
The most popular American films in 1930s China, the Chan movies were based on a fictional Chinese-American detective originally created by Earl Derr Biggers in 1923.  More than four dozen films featuring Charlie Chan have been made since 1926.  In 1931, the Fox Film Corporation cast Swedish actor Warner Oland as Chan in Charlie Chan Carries On; the film was a success, and Fox went on to produce 15 more Chan films with Oland in the title role.
Following Oland's death, Scottish American actor Sidney Toler was cast as Chan; Toler made 22 Chan films, first for Fox and then for Monogram Studios.  After Toler's death, six more films were made, starring Roland Winters.  The character has also been featured in several radio programs, two television shows and a number of comics.

The order above is the order according to DVD Active, but that would mean that "What a Nightmare, Charlie Brown" (February 23, 1978) and "It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown" (October 24, 1977) are out of order. So either DVD Active has it wrong or the WB screwed up. Also I'm really upset that they left out the the specials "Happy Anniversary, Charlie Brown" (January 9, 1976) and "Happy Birthday, Charlie Brown" (January 5, 1979). Those two specials have never been released on any format and would have been great to finally see a release. But that would have meant that the WB would have had to gone out of their way to make the fans truly happy and why would they want to do something silly like that? I guess we could just cross our fingers and hope they release all those "milestone" specials in a box set after all the regular specials have been released. Not a bad way to milk a little extra cash out of the die hard fans. But I doubt we'll see that.

In You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, the Peanuts gang perform the various comedy sketches from the original live-action musical. Charlie Brown's friends each describe him. Charlie Brown is happy as usual and then his friends say that "You're a good man, Charlie Brown". Lucy comes up to Schroeder trying to talk to him about that the two of them should get married("Schroeder"). Schroeder ignores her, then Lucy says "My Aunt Marion was right, never try to discuss marriage with a musician." Charlie Brown has never been able to keep a kite in the air and he hopes that the day it would happen would be today, but he had once again failed("The Kite"). Sally was writing a letter to Ann Flanders about the valentines she gets. Charlie Brown gives Lucy a valentine and screws up and says "This is for you Lucy, Merry Christmas." Charlie Brown sees Marcie and thinks that she is going to give him a valentine but she doesn't. Lucy comes up to Schroeder again and talks about saucepans, and, again, Schroeder can't stand it. Snoopy imagines that he is a wild animal("Snoopy"). Charlie Brown, Schroeder, Linus, and Lucy work on their book reports on "Peter Rabbit"("Book Report"). Lucy teaches Linus about nature in her own way while Charlie Brown tries to correct her.("Little Known Facts").

Among the episodes in the Collection are “Party Fever,” “The Little Ranger,” “Alfalfa’s Aunt,” “Don’t Lie” and dozens more. Also seen in the cast are Froggy, Porky, and even little Mickey Guibitosi, who soon changed his screen name to Bobby (Robert) Blake. This collection marks the first ever home video release of the entire group of the 52 MGM shorts, news sure to be welcomed by the hordes of “Our Gang” fans out there.
